Todav\u00eda me duele, 25 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, cuando me equivoqu\u00e9 en una carrera. Era el m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en la pista, marqu\u00e9 la vuelta r\u00e1pida, no me costaba nada ir m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que los dem\u00e1s. Ten\u00eda el coche perfectamente a punto y cuando iba m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido la sensaci\u00f3n era de ir despacio. Frenar en el sitio, entrar con suavidad en la curva. Todo era f\u00e1cil para hacerlo bien.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pero sal\u00ed mal, adelant\u00e9 mal y, al final, por culpa de otro piloto al que descalificaron, di siete vueltas de campana. El accidente fue por culpa del otro piloto, pero yo lo pod\u00eda haber evitado si hubiera utilizado la cabeza en lugar de los pies en aquella carrera en la que casi todo lo hice mal, salvo conducir. Romp\u00ed el coche, la temporada y todas mis ilusiones de seguir corriendo. Todo mi sueldo lo destinaba a correr carreras. Con aquel error, se me acab\u00f3 la posibilidad de seguir compitiendo.<\/p>\n<p>Ahora, 25 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, todav\u00eda me duele aquella carrera, no hace falta que sea un error tan brutal. Siempre que me equivoco, me duele. Me molesta mucho hacer las cosas mal cuando era posible hacerlas mejor. A veces me molesta durante horas, otras durante d\u00edas y en ocasiones durante a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Pienso en la mala conciencia cuando conduzco un coche que se equivoca. Por ejemplo, cuando un sistema de ayuda para permanecer en el carril no detecta la l\u00ednea y se sale sin avisar. O cuando un sistema de control activo de velocidad de crucero tiene que frenar y no frena.<\/p>\n<p>Siempre pienso: \u00abEste cabr\u00f3n de coche, \u00bfTendr\u00e1 mala conciencia? \u00bfHabr\u00e1 alg\u00fan algo (lo que sea) que se fustigue cuando note que el conductor ha frenado cuando era \u00e9l quien ten\u00eda que frenar?\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfNi siquiera un poco?<\/p>\n<p>Yo siempre espero una mueca de disgusto cuando el coche se equivoca. Pero, \u00bfC\u00f3mo la noto?<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfLe dar\u00eda vueltas sin querer Deep Blue a las partidas que perd\u00eda con Kasparov en las horas de descanso? \u00bfEstar\u00eda contento, feliz y un poco ufano cuando las ganaba?<\/p>\n<p>Son m\u00e1quinas, s\u00ed. Pero piensan r\u00e1pido y bien. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no les jode cuando se equivocan?
