El modelo anterior llevaba un V10 atmosf\u00e9rico con 507 CV de potencia. El motor del nuevo M5 da una <strong>potencia m\u00e1xima de 560 CV<\/strong>. El cambio es <strong>autom\u00e1tico de doble embrague<\/strong> (\u00abDKG\u00bb) de siete velocidades y la tracci\u00f3n es a las ruedas traseras.<br \/>\nSeg\u00fan BMW, el nuevo M5 mejora notablemente las prestaciones del modelo anterior, consiguiendo una <strong>rebaja del consumo<\/strong> medio homologada <strong>del\u00a050 por ciento<\/strong>.\u00a0 Pasa de 14.8 a 9.9 litros cada 100 km en el ciclo medio homologado. Una de las razones para\u00a0esta reducci\u00f3n de\u00a0consumo es que lleva un sistema autom\u00e1tico que detiene el motor en las detenciones.<br \/>\nEn el dise\u00f1o exterior, BMW ha redise\u00f1ado los paragolpes para que tenga una <strong>apariencia m\u00e1s deportiva<\/strong>.
