A primera vista, podr\u00eda parecer que se trata de un mero recurso est\u00e9tico para aportar agresividad visual o de un nervio estructural para reforzar el pl\u00e1stico ante posibles impactos. Sin embargo, su origen responde estrictamente a las leyes de la <strong>din\u00e1mica de fluidos.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Muchas de estas protuberancias act\u00faan como generadores de v\u00f3rtices o como peque\u00f1os deflectores aerodin\u00e1micos destinados a controlar el comportamiento del flujo de aire justo en el momento en que se separa de la carrocer\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reducci\u00f3n del avance y consumo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cuando un autom\u00f3vil circula a alta velocidad, el aire fluye rozando la superficie de la carrocer\u00eda, una zona de contacto que los ingenieros conocen como <strong>capa l\u00edmite<\/strong>. Al llegar a las esquinas traseras o a las zonas de ca\u00edda abrupta del dise\u00f1o (puntos cr\u00edticos donde se ubican los pilotos), el flujo de aire tiende a perder velocidad y a separarse de la superficie de forma ca\u00f3tica. Este desprendimiento prematuro genera una <strong>gran zona de baja presi\u00f3n<\/strong> inmediatamente detr\u00e1s del veh\u00edculo, creando un efecto de succi\u00f3n o viento de cola negativo que incrementa dr\u00e1sticamente la resistencia aerodin\u00e1mica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los generadores de v\u00f3rtices de los pilotos traseros resuelven este inconveniente de forma pasiva. Estas peque\u00f1as aletas introducen intencionadamente una <strong>microturbulencia controlada<\/strong> en el flujo de aire, creando diminutos remolinos. Este aire en rotaci\u00f3n consigue pegarse con m\u00e1s fuerza a la curvatura de la tulipa, retrasando el desprendimiento de la capa l\u00edmite y logrando que las l\u00edneas de flujo <strong>cierren de forma m\u00e1s suave <\/strong>detr\u00e1s del coche. Cuando la parte trasera de un veh\u00edculo carece de control aerodin\u00e1mico, la zona de baja presi\u00f3n posterior succiona el polvo, el agua de la lluvia y la suciedad en suspensi\u00f3n de la carretera, que se asienta sobre la superficie de las \u00f3pticas. En la secci\u00f3n frontal, la misi\u00f3n de estos ap\u00e9ndices no es retrasar el desprendimiento de la capa l\u00edmite, sino&nbsp;<strong>preparar y dirigir el flujo de aire<\/strong>&nbsp;antes de que recorra los laterales del veh\u00edculo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las aletas en los faros peinan el aire que choca contra el frontal, reduciendo las turbulencias que se generan en la parte delantera del veh\u00edculo.
