Esta aparente contradicci\u00f3n entre la realidad y el <strong>diagn\u00f3stico a bordo<\/strong> (OBD) tiene explicaciones t\u00e9cnicas precisas que residen en el modo en que las unidades de control procesan los datos y gestionan las prioridades de seguridad y emisiones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El sistema de autodiagn\u00f3stico de un veh\u00edculo moderno es una red compleja que monitoriza numerosos par\u00e1metros por segundo. Sin embargo, no est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para alertar de cada anomal\u00eda, sino para identificar <strong>aquellas que comprometen la seguridad<\/strong>, la integridad de los componentes principales o, de manera muy estricta, el cumplimiento de las normativas de emisiones contaminantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Umbrales de tolerancia y c\u00f3digos pendientes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La unidad de control del motor opera bajo una l\u00f3gica de rango de plausibilidad, en la que cada sensor (caudal\u00edmetro, sondas lambda, sensores de presi\u00f3n de soplado del turbo, etc.) env\u00eda una se\u00f1al el\u00e9ctrica. Para que la centralita decida encender el testigo de fallo de motor, la se\u00f1al debe <strong>salirse de unos m\u00e1rgenes preestablecidos<\/strong> durante un tiempo determinado o un n\u00famero espec\u00edfico de ciclos de conducci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqu\u00ed es donde aparece el concepto de&nbsp;<strong>fallos pendientes<\/strong>. Si un sensor de temperatura de aire de admisi\u00f3n env\u00eda una lectura err\u00e1tica, pero todav\u00eda dentro de un rango que la ECU considera posible (aunque sea incorrecto para las condiciones reales), el sistema puede registrar una anomal\u00eda interna, <strong>pero no alertar al conducto<\/strong>r. La centralita intenta compensar esa lectura err\u00f3nea ajustando otros par\u00e1metros, como el tiempo de inyecci\u00f3n o el avance del encendido (en los motores de gasolina). Mientras esta compensaci\u00f3n sea efectiva y no se superen los l\u00edmites de emisiones establecidos por la normativa Euro 6 (o posteriores), el cuadro de instrumentos seguir\u00e1 apagado, aunque el conductor note que el coche no responde con la finura habitual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"558\" src=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Fallo-motor-1-1024x558.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-69361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Fallo-motor-1-1024x558.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Fallo-motor-1-980x534.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Fallo-motor-1-480x262.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, hay fallos intermitentes que no cumplen con los requisitos de confirmaci\u00f3n. El protocolo OBD suele exigir que un error se repita <strong>en dos o m\u00e1s ciclos de arranque consecutivos<\/strong> para considerar que es una aver\u00eda real y no una lectura equ\u00edvoca debida a un dato inconsistente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 fallan?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Otro motivo fundamental por el cual muchos fallos no dejan rastro en el cuadro es la propia naturaleza del componente afectado.
