Despu\u00e9s de mucho tiempo de espera y expectaci\u00f3n, Chevrolet ha desvelado el Volt de producci\u00f3n.<br \/>\nTiene un motor el\u00e9ctrico de 151 CV que se alimenta de la energ\u00eda almacenada en una bater\u00eda de iones de litio. Si la bater\u00eda se encuentra a plena carga, el Volt es capaz de recorrer 64 km. L\u00f3gicamente, de esta forma la contaminaci\u00f3n es cero. Este modo resulta muy \u00fatil para cortos recorridos.<br \/>\nEs posible recargar la bater\u00eda conectando el Volt a un enchufe dom\u00e9stico de 240 V. De esta forma, se tarda algo menos de tres horas en cargarse por completo. Tambi\u00e9n se carga recuperando parte de la energ\u00eda que se pierde al frenar.<br \/>\nSi circulando, la bater\u00eda se agota, un motor t\u00e9rmico de peque\u00f1a cilindrada se arranca con dos objetos: alimentar al motor el\u00e9ctrico y, simult\u00e1neamente, cargar la bater\u00eda. El motor t\u00e9rmico puede funcionar con gasolina o con E85. De esta forma, la autonom\u00eda del Volt aumenta considerablemente ya que puede circular hasta que se termine el combustible.<br \/>\nLa fabricaci\u00f3n del Volt destinada al mercado estadounidense comenzar\u00e1 a finales de 2010.
