Para que la espera sea m\u00e1s llevadera, BMW ha publicado algunos datos de ambos modelos, fotograf\u00edas t\u00e9cnicas y un v\u00eddeo en el que dos de los pilotos del DTM (Bruno Spengler y Timo Glock) analizan el comportamiento del veh\u00edculo dando unas vueltas al trazado alem\u00e1n de N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife (ver\u00a0<a title=\"Fin a la producci\u00f3n del BMW M3 Coup\u00e9. Se confirma que ambos modelos tendr\u00e1n un motor de 6 cilindros de nueva factura, denominado S55 B30, con dos turbocompresores (IHI) de baja inercia asociados a una admisi\u00f3n de geometr\u00eda variable (VALVETRONIC) y sistema Doble-VANOS. Tendr\u00e1 una potencia aproximada de 430 CV a 7500 rpm y un par motor m\u00e1ximo de m\u00e1s de 500 Nm, mejorando un 30% respecto al que ofrec\u00eda el anterior V8 de los M3.<br \/>\nDe serie, estar\u00e1 asociado a una caja de cambios manual de 6 velocidades. Pesa 12 kg menos que la utilizada por la anterior generaci\u00f3n. Esta nueva caja de cambios tiene la peculiaridad de que al engranar una marcha m\u00e1s corta eleva autom\u00e1ticamente el r\u00e9gimen del motor para eliminar la brusca retenci\u00f3n que se suele producir al levantar el pie del embrague de forma repentina. Logra el mismo efecto que se consigue con la maniobra del <a title=\"Maniobra punta-tac\u00f3n\" href=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/glosario\/p\/punttaco.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">punta-tac\u00f3n<\/a>, haciendo que las marchas entren m\u00e1s suavidad. Algo similar emplea Nissan en el 370Z (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/00\/nissan\/370z\/2009\/t01.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">m\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n<\/a>).<br \/>\nOpcionalmente, estar\u00e1 disponible una caja de cambios autom\u00e1tica de doble embrague con 7 relaciones que incorporar\u00e1 un sistema de Launch Control y varios modos de funcionamiento.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-19531\" alt=\"201309_P90133992-zoom-orig\" src=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/201309_P90133992-zoom-orig.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/201309_P90133992-zoom-orig.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.km77.com\/revista\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/201309_P90133992-zoom-orig-480x319.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 600px, 100vw\" \/><br \/>\nLa tracci\u00f3n es a las ruedas traseras, tiene un diferencial denominado Active M Differential. Es un diferencial con un activador el\u00e9ctrico que var\u00eda el bloqueo constantemente.<br \/>\nEl consumo se ha reducido un 25%, esto permite cumplir con las normas de contaminaci\u00f3n EURO VI.<br \/>\nEl peso del conjunto ser\u00e1 inferior a 1500 kg con un reparto de masas entre los ejes del 50:50. Para conseguir el equilibrio y la reducci\u00f3n del peso se ha empleado CFRP en el port\u00f3n, techo, soportes del cap\u00f3 delantero y paragolpes trasero. El \u00e1rbol de transmisi\u00f3n que no tiene rodamiento central tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 fabricado en este material (es un 40% m\u00e1s ligero que el empleado en el M3 anterior).
